Premiere Entertainment Group has acquired international rights to Tribeca 2021 drama No Future starring Catherine Keener and Screen Star of Tomorrow 2015 Charlie Heaton and will commence talks with EFM buyers this week.
The film centres on a recovering addict – Heaton, who starred in The New Mutants – who returns to his hometown where he begins a troubled affair with his deceased friend’s grieving mother, played by Keener, who earned Oscar nominations for Capote and Being John Malkovich.
The cast includes Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel), Jefferson White (Yellowstone) and Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children).
Andrew Irvine and Mark Smoot directed No Future from Smoot’s original screenplay. Jonathan Duffy and Kelly Williams produced for Ten Acre Films alongside Lisa Normand and Jeff Walker for Terraform Films. Following its Tribeca premiere No Future received a limited theatrical release and VoD launch in October.
Premiere CEO Elias Axume and SVP of acquisitions Carlos Rincon negotiated the deal with the producers.
Premiere’s EFM sales slate includes revenge thriller There Are No Saints written by the Paul Schrader and starring Tim Roth, Paz Vega, and Ron Perlman; East Of The Mountains starring Tom Skerritt and Mira Sorvino; thriller This Game’s Called Murder with Perlman and Natasha Henstridge, and post-apocalyptic horror Apartment 213.
